Building Bridges Between Europe and Japan

At X Shift Gearboxes, we’re no strangers to collaboration across continents, but some visits carry a special meaning. We had the honour of welcoming Mr. Teruo Katsuta, President of LUCK Co. Ltd., and Mr. Kengo Tomatani to our headquarters in the Czech Republic.

For those familiar with rallying, the Katsuta name needs little introduction. Teruo Katsuta is a highly respected figure in Japanese motorsport, known not only as a pioneer rally driver but also as a recipient of the Sports Achievement Award from Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and also the grandfather of Takamoto Katsuta, the Japanese driver competing in the for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT. Having such a direct connection to the WRC world under our roof made this meeting all the more special—not just for our company, but for the entire X Shift Gearboxes community.

Over two days, we shared insights into our history, our facilities, and our vision for the future of high-performance gearboxes. The discussions were highly productive, but just as important was the sense of friendship and mutual respect that grew between our teams.

As a company, we are proud to be forming closer ties with LUCK Co. Ltd., a respected name in Japanese motorsport. Together, we look forward to creating opportunities that bring the best of Czech engineering and Japanese passion for racing even closer.
