When it comes to Subaru builds that stop you in your tracks, few do it better than ScoobyClinic Chesterfield. Their latest project, created for a customer named Muddy, is a shining example of passion, skill, and vision coming together in one breath-taking package.

At first glance, you might think you’re looking at a clean Subaru STi Type R—a well-loved classic in its own right. But this one comes with a massive twist. Imported from Japan a few years ago, Muddy brought it to ScoobyClinic with a dream, a wishlist, and, importantly, the trust to let the experts shape the build. The result? A Lamborghini yellow Type R that turns heads before you even hear the engine fire.

The Details Behind the Monster

Inside and out, no corner was cut in the making of this machine. HKS Bride anniversary bucket seats set the tone in the cockpit, while under the skin sits a ScoobyClinic-built EJ22 stroked to 2.4 litres. It features:

Billet crank, forged rods and pistons
CNC-ported AVCS heads
Custom manifold and exhaust system (finished with a titanium cat-back)
Blouch turbocharger paired with a Cosworth manifold
Syvecs ECU with an AEM LCD display for real-time feedback

And, of course, the X Shift sequential gearbox—the piece that brings all that power together.

Numbers? On 99 octane, this car lays down over 700 bhp and 745 Nm Add a 50/50 splash of ethanol into the mix, and you’re looking at 857 bhp and 958 Nm of ferocious yet controllable output.
