2025 Maxi Rally Champions!

The 2025 Argentine Rally Championship has come to a thrilling close, and it’s been a year to remember for the Maxi Rally category. At the forefront of this incredible season, one team stood above the rest: Rubén Montoro and co-driver Ignacio Uez, backed by the professional and very supportive ST Competición team — all powered by the precision and reliability of X Shift Gearboxes.

The Argentine Rally Championship is the pinnacle of national rallying in Argentina. Across a series of demanding events, drivers compete on everything from fast gravel roads to tight, technical mountain stages. Every great rally car needs a gearbox you can rely on, and for Montoro and Uez, that confidence was placed in X Shift Gearboxes. This is specifically a sequential transmission kit originally from the Subaru STi, as the rules there allow swapping the 6 speed "TY856" gearboxes from the top STi models of the Subaru Impreza WRX series.

Especially for this type of racing, we developed a special, tailor-made short ratio MR-N5 in cooperation with ST Competición experiences and homologation rules, and the sequential kits were delivered with the original CNC flange, anodized in a beautiful bronze color. These gearboxes delivers the ideal combination of fast shifting speed, perfect center differential control, and overall resilience — a crucial element in the championship-winning campaign.
