X Shift Gearboxes – Teambuilding Sky High
The X Shift Gearboxes team headed to the mountains beneath Králický Sněžník. Speed on the slopes, endurance on the climb, perspective on the Sky Bridge, and well-earned relaxation.✔️ A teambuilding experience that proved what we’ve been putting into our gearboxes for 25 years, we truly carry within ourselves.✔️
On Thursday, February 19th, we headed toward Červený Potok — a place where there’s more snow than phone signal. A family-run guesthouse set in the picturesque landscape beneath Králický Sněžník, on the border of the Jeseníky and Olick Mountains, became our home for a few days.
Modern facilities, beautiful surroundings, fresh mountain air, a strategic location, and endless opportunities for movement make it the perfect place for a team that simply doesn’t know how to sit still.
After a rich evening feast, it became clear early the next morning that what we’ve been putting into our gearboxes for over 25 years, we truly carry within ourselves.
The first group headed to the slopes of Dolní Morava. Wind in the hair, under helmets, and inside beanies. Across ten kilometres of ski runs, healthy competition took off, but above all, it was about the joy of movement.
Some went full throttle, some took it cautiously, some less gracefully, and some even on their butts — but that didn’t really matter. What mattered was that everyone pushed according to their own limits. And everyone made it down with a solid dose of adrenaline and endorphins.
Speed isn’t just about time. It’s about having the courage to let go and point it downhill.
The second group chose a different challenge. Nearly a 30-kilometer route, including the climb to Kralický Sněžník, where clouds slide across the summit at 1,423 meters above sea level. Strong winds, snow in places up to the knees, and a route that was anything but a walk in the park.
Here it wasn’t about pace. It was about rhythm. Step by step. The decision not to stop. To keep moving forward no matter what.
Back at base, “service” included wringing out socks, and the oil change was handled by the eleven-degree beer, Šerák.
No oil was overfilled, of course. : )
Performance isn’t only about power. Someone has to keep perspective. To see the bigger picture.
That’s why the third group chose the Treetop Walk and the Sky Bridge 721 — 721 meters long, 95 meters above the ground at its highest point, suspended between sky and earth. A structure that feels light, yet stands on six main load-bearing cables, each capable of handling 360 tons.
Sometimes you simply need to rise above things and look at the world from a different perspective.
Unless you’re afraid of heights.
Just like our street gearboxes, which can be pretty sharp yet well-mannered, we too know how to switch gears after a demanding day and simply drift into a relaxed rhythm. We had the perfect opportunity to unwind in a nearby wellness center — in one word, heavenly.
Great food, good drinks, good mood — but most importantly, quality time spent with a truly high-quality group of people.
We were especially happy that new colleagues accepted our invitation. They blended in immediately, bringing fresh energy, and we know they will become a strong part of a team that is growing not only in numbers, but also in ambition.
Now we’re back at full throttle. Closer than ever and ready to give the competition a proper run for their money.
In other words, we are ready to kick some A…
Ahoy!
