Subaru DCCD (Driver's Control Centre Differential) is a sophisticated system that allows driver to control the torque distribution between front and rear wheels. It dramatically improves handling, stability and performance during dynamic driving scenarios.
DCCD consists of mechanical Limited Slip Differential and electromagnetic multi-plate clutch controlled by coil. All these components work together to provide the ideal power distribution in different racing conditions. There are two modes of operation of Subaru DCCD. First is manual mode, where the system controls the elecromagnetic clutch and therefore LSD to acquire the differential limiting force set by driver. Second is auto mode, in which the system controls LSD based on information from sensors detecting vehicle driving conditions and "driver's intentions" like position of accelerator pedal or steering angle.
Our upgraded coil is able to produce bigger force than standard coil, requiring the same voltage. It also operates with smaller current which leads to significant decrease of thermal stress.
