Transfer Toyota GR

Suitable for:

We have developed a stronger hypoid gear set, input shaft and billet casing for the front transfer assembly of the Toyota GR Yaris.

Specification

With this product, you can avoid issues with the original gear set, which is weaker and prone to gear tooth damage. Our new gear set has fewer teeth than the original, allowing use of larger teeth that can handle higher torque and greater impacts.

Our stronger hypoid gear set (Toyota SHD Front Hypoid Gearing+Tube) features 32 teeth on the ring gear and 14 teeth on the pinion, compared to the original, which has 39 teeth on the ring gear and 19 teeth on the pinion. The gear ratio is very similar to the original and closer to a 1:1 ratio between the front and rear axles. Not only gearing, but also input shaft was improved to endure most extreme conditions. New design of the shaft with thicker wall and securing nut instead of snap ring results in more durable solution. Both gear set and input shaft are made from high-alloy steel and finished using the REM isotropic superfinishing method for a superior surface finish.

Due to higher forces, which can be transferred through our hypoid gear set, there is incentive to make the case suitable for increased load and this is provided by our CNC billet case. Besides better strength properties, there is significant advantage in lubrication and cooling process. This is achieved by improved design, which contains +25 % of oil beyond the original. Our transfer can be supplied with lubrication system connected to X Shift sequential gearbox and it‘s also possible to connect additional oil cooler, as the casing contains additional plugs.

Why XShift?
Major Advantages
  • Stronger teeth
  • 32 teeth on the ring gear and 14 teeth on the pinion
  • Gears and input shaft finished using REM isotropic superfinishing method
  • Aircraft grade CNC billet aluminium case
  • Greater wear resistance
  • Longer lifespan and higher reliability
  • Installation and adjustment at X Shift Gearboxes
  • Suitable in combination with our gearbox and transfer case lubrication
  • Increased amount of oil by 25 %
  • Direct replacement for the original transfer case
Advanced Design

Significant improvements were made in transfer design. Our CNC billet case has additional ribs to support heat transfer between hot oil and surrounding air. Other new feature in the field of oil management is additional output with drilled strainer, that can be connected to external oil cooler. In case you use X Shift sequential gearbox, we recommend using our lubrication system. Instead of small, separated amount of oil in transfer case, we use a powerful lubrication pump that provides an oil supply from our sequential gearbox to the transfer and back to oil fill.

Mounting Options

There are two options of mounting the transfer to the gearbox. OEM version uses studs, which is proven and functional solution, however it has a downside, that it doesn´t allow dismounting of the transfer without removing full gearbox from the car. To solve this problem, we modified design of the case and added option to replace studs with IMBUS bolts. Due to these adjustments it´s possible to remove transfer from the car without removinig full gearbox, you have to only dismount the axle housing.

Accessories

To set the hypoid gearing clearance correctly, we offer special set of shims that can be inserted under the pinion or the ring gear.

Available options

  • C1 = billet casing
  • C2 = billet casing + hypoid gears + tube
  • C3 = billet casing + hypoid gears + tube + small OEM set
  • C4 = billet casing + hypoid gears + tube + big OEM set
  • C5 = billet casing + hypoid gears + tube + full OEM set
    • complete version – recommended
